Welcome to our lab!

ASMD (Advanced Semiconductor Materials and Devices) lab is a dynamic research group within the Department of Electrical Engineering at UTA. Our research is dedicated to advancing semiconductor materials for the next-generation optoelectronic/photonic device technologies. These devices have critical applications in communication, lighting, detecting, sensing, computing, imaging, space, and national defense.

Our mission is to cultivate the next generation of semiconductor-materials-based optoelectronic/photonic device engineers to address the semiconductor industry’s current workforce shortage. We are committed to providing rigorous training and research opportunities that will prepare our members for impactful careers in this vital field.
